Triglycerides Diet Can Lower Triglyceride Levels

Sugar and alcohol are not part of the triglycerides diet which can lower the levels. In fact, these are a main source of the calories which turn into fat. The fat is the triglyceride in question and continuously imbibing in too much alcohol will not only increase the girth around the waist, but will increase body fat.

Although there is a claim that the resveratrol in red wine lowers the threat of artherosclerosis, which is also caused by high triglyceride levels, some people think that red wine can be part of a triglycerides diet. Unfortunately, red wine still contains alcohol and a complete removal of alcohol is essential for this. With the go-ahead of the doctor once the triglyceride levels are under control, it is possible that a glass or two of dry red wine may be allowable.

A simple outline of a triglycerides diet includes following: no sugar or alcohol in any form, limited fats while eliminating saturated fats, no red meat at all, and higher portions of leafy, dark green vegetables. Sugar substitutes may be used but should be strictly controlled. Chemical substitutes are not very good for your overall health. Grilled, broiled, baked, or boiled fish or poultry should be the protein of choice. Limited amounts of whole grains but no refined carbs like white rice or white bread, unlimited raw fresh fruits and vegetables (a great substitutes for sugar cravings), and unsaturated fats like olive oil for cooking. Simple, right?

What’s nice about the triglycerides diet is that you’re actually not supposed to starve! Your meals should be divided into 6 small meals but whose portions are still based on the recommended daily allowances set by the FDA.

There are good cookbooks out there that can guide the user to how to lower triglycerides and to a triglycerides diet that is not only safe, but delicious as well. Simply because you are on the diet does not mean that you have to give up all the good stuff, just eliminate the poisons and limit your intake and you should be off to a good start.
