Astral Projecting - A Beginners Guide

Monday, June 21st, 2010

A lot of people find that there are some stumbling blocks preventing them from successfully astral projecting. However, this is something which all of us can do. It is a natural ability which every man and woman already has. Much like riding a bike, you dont forget how; but you do have to keep in practice in order to do it well.

The biggest problem which many face as they learn astral projecting is learning to relax fully. To astral project, you have to be able to totally relax your body and your mind. There are a lot of different ways which you can relax. These methods include muscle relaxation and breathing techniques.

Naturally though if the environment is not conducive to promoting a relaxed environment then your astral projection session is not going to go as smoothly or be as successful as you would like it to be. Here are a number of tips that you can follow to help get the most out of your preparation.

*Start by removing any tight, restrictive clothing and any jewelry. Some people even find taking off their clothes to be helpful when astral projecting, but whatever works for you is the right way to go.

*You want to have a dimly lit room in order to practice astral projection. Not pitch black, but dark enough that when you close your eyes no light gets through.

*Orient your body on a north-south axis. Your head should be towards the north. If you are unsure how to position yourself, use the sun as your guide.

*While astral projecting, you want any clothes you wear to be comfortable and loose, while still keeping warm.

*Make sure that you have a place which is quiet and where you will not be distracted as you practice your astral projecting.

*Start using your relaxation techniques (you should also practice these outside of your astral projecting sessions). If you want to astral project, you have to be completely relaxed.

*Start giving yourself mental suggestions that will help you be able to remember what is happening during your session. Keeping a pen and paper close by is helpful, so that as soon as you finish your astral travels you can write down what you remember. Remembering can be enhanced by saying to yourself five times, I will remember.

*Start using your breathing techniques and feel yourself starting to relax.

*While you relax yourself with your breathing techniques, start focusing on the blackness in front of you.

*Now you want to focus on a point or object about a foot away from your forehead, once you focus on that object change your focus to six feet away.

*After this, think of a line which runs perpendicular to your body from your focal point six feet away.

These tips will help you to prepare for astral projecting. You need to have full mental control of the process, so that your astral body doesn’t just wander off directionless. When you astral project you can go anywhere and do anything, so focus on the wheres and whats.

There are some astral projecting practitioners that are able to talk with loved ones they have lost. There are others that take part in activities that they are not able to do in the physical realm of reality. Contrary to what you may think, you have done this already. Now you need to have control over what is happening. Those dreams that you wake up and remember really well were actually astral traveling. Now it is time for you to learn to do it intentionally to reap the benefits of what astral projecting can do for you.

Astral Project Yourself To Another Dimension

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

The ability to astral project is an innate ability that each and every person is born with. The difference between those that astral project on a regular basis and those that do not know they are doing it is simply practice. Astral projecting is an ancient practice that should be treated with the respect that it deserves, much like meditation or yoga. There are a variety of types and names that it is known by. There are also different ways to astral project.

One type of astral projection is lucid dreaming. This occurs when you are dreaming and know it. When your conscious mind knows you are dreaming you can astral project very easily. Get into the habit of telling yourself ‘I am dreaming’ when you are having a lucid dream.

You can do anything you want once you wake up in your dream. This may be a little too random for beginners to be successful enough to astral project.

You need to know that astral projection is real. You should also know that you have astral projected already, you simply were not aware that is what had happened. Have you ever woken up from a dream either in the middle of the night or in the morning and remembered a dream that you had the night before really well. As if you had lived it. That was an astral projection.

The key element to astral projection is to know that you can do it. This will help erase any fears or doubts that you may have that could be keeping you from being able to astral project.

Learn some good meditation and relaxation techniques; these will make it easier for you to astral project. Meditation will get your mind and body ready for the experience of astral projection. Start practicing relaxation and meditation routines you like to get prepared.

A fairly simple meditative practice could be sitting in your favorite comfy chair, in a quiet place with no distractions. Once you are comfortable it is time to clear your head of anything and everything that is floating around in there. Do not focus on any stresses or troubles that are burdening you. The best way to do this is to focus on your breathing, your breathing should be deep and slow. With each breath you should see all the troubles in your head leaving you through your mouth. This will help you reach that deeply relaxed state that is needed to astral project.

You then have to be reach an altered state of consciousness. You can simply continue to work on your breathing, your focus now is not going to be to get rid of the stresses, it is to truly focus on the way you are breathing, your head is clear. The breaths that you are taking should be deep, coming in through the nose and going out of the mouth. As your breathing is slowing and deepening you need to focus on your relaxing on your body.

Focus on each part of the body, starting at the farthest points, your toes. You can do one of two things here. You can either tense and relax each part of your body as you move up the body or you can say as you exhale, My toes are relaxing, I am relaxing.

The best way to describe what you are going to feel is heavy it is going to feel as though all of the energy and tension is slipping away from each part of your body. You will know it when it happens. Once you have relaxed each part of your body it is time for you to move to the next step that is going to help you astral project.

You may feel like sleeping at this time, you need to avoid this. Many recommend repeating a command such as ‘I can fly, I can fly.’ You can say anything you want, just try to come up with something that will keep you from slipping into sleep.

An inactive mind gets bored easily; you may find yourself drifting into some random thoughts. Do not allow this to happen. If this does happen then you will need to start over. You need to keep repeating the phrase you select to keep your mind from wandering.

To reach the state of altered consciousness you can use the phrase you chose or another way. The body of light method involves picturing an area of light that you will change into. Picture the light in your mind and imagine yourself going into it and becoming a part of it.

You will experience three separate feelings when your astral body is projecting. You will have the sensation that you are moving. You will see lights and colors before your eyes even though they are closed. At this point, your astral body is going into the astral world. You will hear voices. These voices will warn you to stop or tell you to go ahead. You will know you have been successful in astral projection when you get to this stage.

Astral Travel, The Universe And You!

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

Think back to the last time you had one of those dreams where you’re flying and you’ll be able to get a sense of what astral travel is like. When your astral body is exploring, this is how it makes its way around. It’s like flying, but you can be anywhere you want to be instantly; all you have to do is to focus on it. While your physical body and your mind are at rest, your astral body is free to set off and allow you to experience astral travel.

Although we may astral travel while we are asleep, it should not be mistaken for dreaming. Dreaming is quite different, since it happens entirely within your brain as it goes over what has happened that day, placing things into context and allowing you to get past them and awake rested the next day. Your dreams may or may not be remembered after you awake, which is an important difference between astral travel and dreaming.

When you remember your dreams in every vivid detail, these are most likely not dreams at all but were experiences with astral travel. It’s a good idea to get into the habit of keeping a journal of these experiences. The things you write down may not make much sense at first, but over time will form a contextual background which makes their meaning clear.

Just as dreams allow your mind to process your day, astral travel refreshes the spirit. The experiences you have and the benefits you’ll see as a result of astral travel are unique to you. This makes keeping an astral travel journal a good idea, since comparing your results to those of someone else is of little value.

One benefit which everyone can experience through astral travel is an increased awareness of themselves and their place in the universe. This in turn leads to a sense of well being and inner peace. Astral projection also helps to improve your memory and alertness since it exercises parts of our physical minds which most people never take the time to develop.

Astral travel tends to help other innate psychic talents come to the surface. Many who have learned to use astral travel say that they feel more telepathic and can more easily detect spiritual presences around them.

When you astral project, you don’t just get to visit places and see things which you couldn’t with your physical body. You also develop your mind and your psychic abilities and learn more about yourself.

People who start off as skeptics about astral travel are often convinced of its merits once they begin to gain experience with astral projection and start enjoying its beneficial effects.

Of course, astral travel can also be fun. You can think of it as sending your astral body on a mini-vacation, taking in the sights of exotic, far off places and returning relaxed and ready to help you live a better life.

The most surprising thing about astral travel is that it isn’t done by everybody. The reason that it isn’t more widely practiced is that there is a widely held misconception that only a select few are able to astral project. This however is not the case as anyone can learn to astral travel if they want to.

You have almost certainly had the experience of astral projection before, although it is possible you were unaware that this is what you were doing.

The best way to get started is to just let astral travel happen on its own and keep a journal of your astral projection experiences. Soon, you’ll be able to identify when you are astral traveling and this means you’re ready to start practicing to astral travel when you choose to do so. It takes practice, but you can develop this innate ability and with so much to be gained, it’s well worth the effort.

Each of us has the ability to astral travel. With practice and determination, you can train yourself to astral project. There are resources available which can help you to ready yourself to use this natural ability. With time and patience, you’ll achieve your goal and gain the inner peace which comes with learning astral travel.
