Lara Croft Tomb Raider Costume Tips

Monday, July 26th, 2010

English Lady, Lara Croft. She has style, elegance and power. Her feminine characteristics as portrayed by Angelina Jolie in the Tomb Raider have made the movie popular. This is one of the reason why Lara Croft Tomb Raider outfits are the costume of choice among most women.

Who wouldn’t want to be like Lady Croft? Thus, if you want to dress like her this coming Halloween or any other costume events that you are planning to attend, here are some ideas on what you would need for the entire Lara Croft ensemble.

1. It is rather easy to find the brown shorts that Lady Lara is using in the video games. If you have a short brown shorts in your wardrobe, it would be absolutely perfect. You could also make do of your longer shorts but just cut it or fold it to be shorter. You cannot have those lose and long shorts, since Lara wears those fitting pair.

Another item to consider is to find a pair of boots. You could wear the black winter shoes you have in your closet as long as they are knee high flat boots. Finding the footwear is rather easy because every American probably has a pair at home. Just do not go for the intricately designed boots but stick with those simple hard looking pair than those feminine-looking ones.

3. Your boots would be something that you absolutely have at home, especially when you are in winter places. You could wear a black knee high boots without heels. You might be tempted to wear those sexy heeled boots that you have, but I would rather not recommend it. Remember that Lara Croft’s costume is worn during her adventures and not during ordinary days.

4. The accessories are something that you really have to purchase; unless, you are a daughter of a cop. You will need to have those belts used by policemen to hold their guns. You would also need those guns she carries during her tomb raiding. Just remember not to carry real ones since they would surely get you into trouble.

5. Get a nice long wig from the internet. The long hair is her trademark thus you really have to have the hair.

This costume is certainly a smart choice this year. The entire ensemble is so comfy to wear and light weight. But if hunting for the costume seems to be tricky, you might always buy them on the web. Don’t fret, there will totally be a costume that is good for you.

Use Theater Makeup To Dress Up In Halloween Costumes

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

On Halloween night, regular ‘ol everyday makeup is just not going to do! Time to break out the hard stuff; theatrical makeup. With a dab of this and a dash of that, theatrical makeup can transform you into whomever, or whatever you want to be. Not too mention those characters that require much face makeup, such as clowns and mimes. A person would be hard pressed to create the striking clown look without the use of theatrical makeup.

Children and adults can dress up as anything they please, since Halloween is such a fun filled holiday. The use of stage makeup can transform a little girl into an enchanting fairy or a little boy into the most frightening vampire. Stage makeup is useful for many things such as creating wounds and scars while dressing as a goblin or zombie or it can create the look of fake blood on a witch or other supernatural characters. With stage makeup, the old can look young while the young can look old as well as making the loveliest of all look like an old hag. Theater makeup is wonderful for creating any Halloween look and it is fun to use for all ages. http://www.costumecauldron.com/Kids-Fortune-Teller-Gypsy-Costumes.html

We’ve all been to a school play or two, and what is cuter than seeing your little “apple,” or “banana” trying to remember the choreography to that aggressive 2nd Grade number? Well, without the help of theatrical makeup, the extra details that put it all together would be sorely missed. Stage makeup is an essential for grade schools. How else could Mrs. M make Johnny a convincing Abe Lincoln, complete with wrinkles and top hat? Theatrical makeup can basically make you into whatever you want. It is a valuable teaching tool.

Sometimes theatrical makeup is also called “clown makeup.” Basically since the image of a clown immediately conjures a white face with distinctive eyes and mouth. Every day makeup could never duplicate this look, which is why the term “clown makeup” was created. If you visit a costume shop and can’t find the makeup you are looking for ask for clown or theatrical makeup. The owner will know exactly what you need.

Theater makeup can add additional characteristics to a character such as fake wounds and pointed ears. Theater makeup can aid in blending in a prosthetic prop onto the face and body, giving them a more realistic appearance. For instance, you can add a mole to a costume of a witch, or you can add comical ears to elf and fairy costumes. Theater makeup is also useful for adding additional effects to a latex prosthetic piece, such as with pus or blood by blending different colors.

You can brighten things up a bit, at sports games while painting your face with your team colors if you have any Halloween makeup hidden away in your cabinets or makeup drawer. There is no better way to show your team spirit while cheering on your favorite sports team while wearing Halloween clown or stage makeup. http://www.costumecauldron.com/Kids-Skeleton-Ghost-Costumes.html

When using theater makeup, it is possible to transform any actor into a fantasy character. Theater makeup works great for children’s plays and performances, as well as Halloween costumes. Children entertainers such as clowns and mimes also frequently use stage makeup, which makes it possible to entertain kids in disguise. Theater makeup is a must have for holidays as well as school events, and all parents should have some on hand in case they need to transform their child into a princess or goblin.
