Thursday, August 19th, 2010

A missed period is often the first sign for some women that they may be pregnant, but there are earlier ones if you know what to look for for some women. These early pregnancy signs are not always the same from woman to woman, for example one pay complain of sickness whereas another may have some bloating, or a third may have both plus a tightening across the stomach.

The earliest time you should really take a pregnancy test is 2 weeks after conception as there is not enough hCG in the body to detect otherwise, even using a sensitive home pregnancy test designed to be used for early testing, before a missed period. But by testing earlier you are losing some of the accuracy - the highest accuracy per cent sensitive tests give if you test before a missed period is 90%. Light spotting of blood can happen 3 to 12 days after ovulation. Being bloated. Craving foods, sometimes odd combinations. Needing to pee more often. Breasts being tender to the tough, feeling swollen, and blue veins visible on them.

Some women may experience just one or two symptoms, and some may get them all. Some may experience symptoms early, some may have not experience anything until a but further in to the pregnancy. All of these symptoms are caused by the hCG and hormonal changes occurring in your body.

A home pregnancy test can help you know for sure if you are seeing signs. They are simple to use and just involve either putting a test stick into your urine stream or into a cup of your urine. After one to three minutes the results will show. Make sure your test suits you and is the right sensitivity. Information On Infertility Stress

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Infertility is considered as one of the most stressful situation that any couple has to go through. The treatments for it can contribute to the stress that the couple goes through. Just by knowing that the treatment can add stress, the couple get more stress and it can worsen their chances of getting pregnancy.

But what causes it? What are some of the factors behind infertility stress?

Firstly, it can begin from knowing they are infertile. After having sex for a long time, the couple is unable to have child and they seek medicial attention. One or both could very well end up feeling depressed and inadequate when the specialist diagnosis say it is due to infertility.

Secondly, should the couple decide to undergo infertility treatments, doing so can further add to their stress. Such treatments can prove exceedingly and prohibitively expensive depending on the treatments required. (Patients, though, may be able to avail of financing options and fertility insurance if they qualify for it.)

And the process itself of having to go in and out of doctors’ waiting rooms and hospitals, among other places, waiting with bated breath for results can surely add more stress on top of the existing stress,

Thirdly, the stress can be added from the lovemaking itself. Many couples may not be able to get past the fact that they are unable to bear children normally. This can make things very hard for them because they may have to make recourse to more medical procedures if they are unable to consummate the sexual act.

Also having sex might become unenjoyable. It is no longer about enjoying each other and having a pleasure time. It can become a chore for the couple as they would have to be doing it according to a schedule with the pressure of producing children.

In addition, men will feel emasculated and feel that they are responsible if they are unable to produce babies with their wives. Having to undergo fertility treatments may be even more demeaning for them. And since men have to produce semen in doctors’ offices, learn that they might have low sperm count or have erectile problems, all these can prove extremely embarrassing to them.

How the couple responds to such stress in the first place is extremely important. Some can simply take it in stride and be positive even in the face of potential failure; others can be negative right at the outset even if the future for them might not be so bleak, and immediately contemplate having to adopt children while agonizing over how unfair things seem to be, and so on and so forth. This can result in the couples and individuals having a low self-esteem.

Many couples end up going through extreme strain due to infertility. Some couples buckle under this strain, and many of them end up breaking up. Others, though, end up learning from this experience and end up stronger couples.

Reverse both female and male infertility issues and improve the quality of your life dramatically! Get pregnant quickly and naturally within 2 months and give birth to healthy babies with a holistic and ancient chinese system.

Pregnancy and Acne

Friday, July 24th, 2009

Treating acne is normally the right thing to do when you have it, but not at all times. There are stages in a person’s life when you can not try to cure acne just because you want to. During pregnancy is one of those times. As everyone knows, this is a delicate stage in a woman’s life and it is that phase of a woman’s life that she must show extra care of herself. If she feels the need to treat her acne, she must see to it that she arms herself with the correct information.

This should also be remembered by those women who might get pregnant. The following are some treatments for acne that are not recommended for use during pregnancy because they may be harmful to the fetus:

Hormonal Therapy that may include estrogen, flutamide or spirolactone. They are certainly not allowed, because they are injurious and could lead to problems for both the mother and her child. It is best see it as a threat.

Isotretinoin treatment is something else that could put a pregnant woman’s life in danger. Isotretinoin can have negative effects as well, especially for pregnant women and breast-feeders. It could cause severe health complications in both the mother and her unborn baby. Therefore, it is advisable that a woman who is taking Isotretinoin should be checked by an expert. Women who want to get pregnant must avoid the use of Isotretinoin, since it could trigger negative problems not only for mother but most especially for the child.

Oral tetracyclines which could consist of doxycycline, tetracycline or minocycline, may not be a choice on any account, because it is harmful. It has been shown that pregnant women or those who are breast-feeding should avoid the use of this drug at all costs, because it may produce side effects that are nothing short of life-threatening to you and your child, although the most common side effect is the permanent discoloration of your teeth or / and bone disorders.

Topical retinoids, such as tazarotene, adapalene and tretinoin, is the last group that should be completely avoided. Just like the above-mentioned remedies, topical retinoids could be a hazard to you and your baby. Even whether you are pregnant or not, it is not wise to take any of the drugs mentioned above.

For sure, those women, who are pregnant and have acne, really ought to refrain from the heavy therapies mentioned above. Instead, why not settle for more traditional remedies, such as tying your hair back off your face, cleaning your face three or four times a day, changing your pillow cases every day, eating more fresh fruit and avoiding fatty, oily and spicy food?

Eating Right While Pregnant

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

You are about to go through the best nine months of your life! Truly wonderful, these nine months will be filled with happiness, joy, excitement, changes in your body and diet and other mixed emotions. No matter, this period of your life is definitely something you will not forget and you will retell to your child over and over. As exciting as this may be, there are a lot of precautions that you have to take because you are pregnant, especially with what you eat.

Many women think that once they get pregnant, they are free to eat whatever they want. This is a common mistake. In fact, when you are pregnant, you should be more careful with what you take in as this goes to your baby as well. Your babys development is affected by your food intake so eating right while pregnant is something you should observe.

Because of your pregnancy, you can be at risk of aquiring gestational diabetes. Be mindful to not eat a lot of sugar. Caffeine shouldn’t be eaten as well. Artificial sweeteners are not good either as there are studies showing that it could impair your babys development.

Even some fruits like mangoes should not be eaten. These have a lot of natural sugar content that is not good for your child. Choose things like bananas because of their potassium. You also should have fiber to help stay regular.

Make sure that you consume a couple glasses of milk daily. Your doctor might recommend milk designed for pregnant mothers. This milk has many nutrients that you should have and calcium which is imperative for your babys brain and bone development.

Oily food should be avoided. Similarly, intake of salty foods should be minimized as salt retains water. You can get edema, or swelling of ankles and feet, because of the water retained in your tissue due to the salt that you take in.

Finally, it is good to know that eating right while you are pregnant includes drinking correctly. Take at least 8 glasses of water daily. A baby floats in water and if you are dehydrated, they may not have enough of the fluid they need everyday. Just remember, that the better you eat, the better your baby will be.

Top Maternity Nightwear Choices

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

Many pregnant women spend a lot of time time carefully planning their maternity clothing - for example workwear, evening wear, pregnancy dresses. However, they often focus entirely on their daywear options and forget all about maternity nightwear until suddenly they can no longer struggle into their pre-pregnancy pyjamas and are left to spend the remainder of their pregnancy sleeping in uncomfortable oversize t-shirts.

I think that it’s time to put maternity sleepwear first. While there’s no easy way to get a good night’s sleep when you are pregnant, high quality and comfortable clothing will help you relax a bit more while adding style to your maternity lounge wear wardrobe. Most maternity sleep wear is made with nursing access for wearing after you’ve had your baby and makes for a very good long-term investment. Here is my maternity sleep wear checklist:

Size: Just like the rest of your maternity wardrobe, pyjamas and maternity nighties should be bought in your pre-pregnancy size unless you have gained more than the average 25-35 pounds. Also, if you are expecting twins or more, you will need to increase your size (or two!).

Comfort: Many pregnant women experience trouble sleeping at some point during their pregnancy. While there in’t anything you can do about an energetic baby who likes to dance throughout the night, or the early days when you seem to be always taking trips to the bathroom, you can choose to buy maternity sleep wear with comfort in mind, so it’s not your clothing which is giving you sleepless nights!

Jersey cotton is a great fabric for comfortable nightwear and also for pyjamas which can be worn as loungewear for padding around the house to relax in. Personally I prefer to wear maternity pyjamas because of their double use as loungewear and as they are cozier to wear during the night in colder months if you are up and about. Watch out too for tops with built in support for extra ease - some styles use built-in cups and others a fabric “shelf” both work well.

Multi-purpose: Maternity nightwear is made to be used after birth and is constructed for easy nighttime feeding through the use of clever designing. Look out for clever cross-over style pyjama tops. Another alternative is to pick button through pyjama tops which again give fast access.

Style: Forget the unfashionable nightclothes of yesteryear, modern maternity sleepwear adds style to comfort and is available in some beautiful patterns. Look out for the glamourous designs from HotMilk, including camisole tops, wide leg trousers and vibrant shades and patterns including duck egg blue and rich plum.

So, to summarise, look for maternity sleep wear in comfortable materials designed for use after the birth. Remember if you select pyjamas, they make good loungewear choices too. But remember to buy a style you love!

Understanding Bra

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Determining your bra size is not as tricky as one may imagine. But, on the whole women essentially have on a size that is not appropriate. There are a few women who only buy a size that is too outsized and does not provide the proper quantity of support.

Then, there are women who obtain a bra size that is too small and this makes for a high amount of uncomfort. As it is principal to recognize that the bra that you purchase may not fit exactly absolutely, it is principal to get as close as possible in sizing. The first thing that you should do is to put on a bra that offers a fairly top great level of support. Once One time this is done, you will need to obtain a tape measure.

Grab the tape size and run it just below the girth of the bra spot and grab a note of the measurement that you turn up with. As soon as you take this measurement, it is time to use your rounding talents, and round the number to the closest, even one.

If you get a measurement of 31, for example, you would want to round up to the similar number of a 32 for your bra size. When you get this number, put the measuring tape round the circumference of the body that overlaps the nipple area of the breast.

The difference that you achieve between the inch underneath the breast, and the inch across the breast, is going to be something like one inch and even up to nine inches. This would help determine the “cup” size. Once you get this size, choosing the right bra will be a breeze!

Infertility And Yoga

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

Infertility yoga is the best method to boost your fertility by relaxing both your mind and body thereby intensifying your reproductive organs. Though yoga is an old practice for common fitness and health, it is very important for fertility and sexuality issues.

The yogic system works equally with our mind and body. It helps our minds to relax and ease the stress off while at the same time makes our physical body to workout. This is mainly useful for those women who have problems due barren fallopian tube, imbalance in the hormone levels in the body or anything related to fertility. These exercises also prepare the body wholly for conception.

The postures that are to be practiced in infertility yoga may seem to be more feminine; however they are effective for both male and female. These positions are to principally concentrate on the in the pelvic region and the hips. It is this part that bears the whole body physically and mentally. These postures enables goof blood flow and help correct the hormonal balance.

An additional feature of infertility yoga is, it increases the oxygen and blood flow to the brain, where the hypothalamus and pituitary glands being positioned. Both these glands discharge hormones into the blood. Hence certain yoga postures are very important to practice, to support these glands and to function properly.

It has been observed that people are worried to perform infertility yoga since they are doing it for the first time and because their body does not seem to be as flexible as the yogi instructors. Flexibility comes over time and practice; hence do not hesitate to do yoga because of inflexibility, moreover these postures are to be done gently and does not require you to be very flexible. However do see to it that you do not overload your body over its capability.

Another concern is the cost. I would recommend you purchase a DVD that explains how do to the yoga positions, but apart from that, theres not much else you nee. All you need to perform these poses is a mat or rug, some loose comfortable clothing and a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. There is a Fertility Yoga DVD available to guide you through the movements, and plays beautiful relaxing music. If you dont have the DVD, some quiet, gentle music is optional.

Breathing is fundamental to yoga, as it helps you to relax, and increases the flow of oxygen into the body. So when practicing yoga, start breathing more deeply and slowly, and maintain this rhythm of breathing through out the session, as best you can. While you are lying there adjusting your breathing, mentally scan your body, releasing any tension by tensing and relaxing, particularly your anus and the reproductive area.
