Base training is the foundation of stress training. If the cyclist wants to bring out all his potential out of this training, he should plan properly, monitor and act simultaneously. It concerns only the volume of workout and the time spent on cycling. In spite of being at any fitness level, every cyclist can take up this base phase program for putting strong foundations in stress training. The total time for this base training may range from 8 to 12 weeks. The cyclist is at his choice to carry out this training to a longer time to improve his season. He should go through the base phase entirely during many races at the beginning of his season. He cannot overwork with greater intensity during that limited period of base training before preparing for participating in early season races.
To start with, the cyclist should try lesser distances during the first few weeks. The distances to be covered per week will depend on each cyclist’s fitness level. He should plan the maximum distance he will be riding in the final phase. Using the distance he fixed for initial phase and that of his final phase, he can chart out the volume progression during the total phase of base training. If a cyclist wants to start at 200 kilometers/week and his goal is 500 kilometers/week, he can chart out as 200, 300, 250, 300, 375, 400, 350, 400, 450, 475, 425 and 500 kilometers per each successive week for 12 weeks. There is no continuous increase in the volume every week. Sometimes it increases and decreases to reach the peak volume after twelve weeks. A decrease in the distance means that it is a rest week. During this time, the body is allowed to relax and recover. The body grows stronger when there is recovery period and gets the stamina to ride more distances. After this set of cycling base training, he sets volume goals for each day. When the first week is over, rest days are allotted to increase fitness.
If lesser distances are designed as the goal, riding is confined to 4 days a week. Cyclists in advanced stage may set only one day for rest while riding longer distances as the volume goal.
Base phase program is supplemented by running. Running is done as a cross training program for cycling to increase his aerobic capacity due to impact of the feet on the ground.

Training for basketball is very difficult. You put in hours of practice to get better. When you are putting in those hours, you are always asking yourself, “Is there a way for me to bring it to the next level,” or “Can I get better any faster.” That is why here are the top three basketball training supplies on the market today.
1. THE GUN: This piece of equipment is very expensive costing about $4,500. This makes it a piece of equipment a person does not have to own, but every basketball program must own. Just like every gym you go to has a basketball hoop with a net in it, every gym should have a gun. The gun allows you to get off so many more shots than you would be able to by yourself. What it does is catch all the ball you shoot at the hoop, and then shoot them back out to you. It can even keep track of your shots made and missed.
This piece of equipment really helped me out as an individual. I was on JV one year with really only one aspect to my game and that was my drive. I used the gun the next summer and was on Varsity the next year with one of the best shots in conference. Opposing coaches were yelling, “Guard the shooter.” They were talking about me. It made me so much better because I was able to get off a couple hundred shots in half an hour. It helped out with my game and there is nothing else that does what the gun does, so you should work to get one.
2. Jump Shoes: These will bring you to a new level athletically. Basketball is athleticism plus talent. With these shoes you will not only be able to jump higher, but you will be able to jump higher faster. You do not want to be that person who takes the longest time to be able to jump high. You want to be able to jump high right away and that is what these shoes will do for you. They will train you to be a fast person.
3. Tennis ball: This one might sound funny to you, but you will need one. This tennis ball will bring your dribbling to the next level. When ever you are doing dribbling drills. Have the tennis ball in the other hand. Throw the ball up and catch it. If you are doing a cross-over. You will throw the ball up, and then catch it with the other hand. This will force you to not only look up, but to be doing something else while dribbling. This is because while you dribble you need not only to be able to see the court, you have to be able to be thinking about what is going on on the court.
Finally, you will need a place to play and many basketballs.

The field of personal training is expanding at about the same rate as American waistlines. Obesity is a serious and growing problem among average Americans. As medical research links more health risks, like heart disease, hypertension and stroke to even moderate obesity, more Americans are trying to improve their health by getting fit. Some companies have even opened employee fitness centers in an effort to improve their employees’ health and reduce the cost of health insurance.
As a certified personal trainer, you will have many opportunities for jobs in your field. You can chose to work as an entrepreneur, or you can can chose to work for a spa, gym or corporate fitness center. Trainers work not only to improve the client’s level of fitness, but to improve their diet and health habits.
Personal trainers need to be competent in several areas in order to properly serve their clients. The first area is nutrition. One reason for the epidemic of obesity is the poor diet than many Americans chose to eat. High fat foods and refined sugars add unnecessary calories without providing nutrition. The personal trainer works with his clients to encourage a healthy diet with less fat and sugar and better nutrition, not just for weight loss, but for overall health.
In designing fitness plans, the trainer has to be aware of limitations that such health conditions can place on their client’s plan. It may be necessary to speak with the client’s physician before designing their plan.
The final area is the one that most people think of first, exercise. Each client has different physical abilities, limitations and goals. Exercise programs need to take into account the needs and limitations of the client. The personal trainer must be familiar with both aerobic and strength training exercises and design a realistic and balanced program for each client.
Setting up proper exercise programs is central to the job of personal fitness training. The trainer must consider the individual clients fitness level, general health and age and set up a program that meets all the client’s needs. The trainer must be well versed in both aerobic and strength training exercise and equipment, since a balanced approach to exercise contains elements of both.
Training to become a certified personal trainer can be done in a number of ways. You can chose a college program at either the associates or bachelors level (2 or 4 year), or you can enter a training program to earn the necessary credits to become certified. This is a rewarding career choice both from the standpoint of salary and from the satisfaction of helping people improve their health and their lives. You can chose to be a private trainer or work in the fitness industry.
If this sounds like the job you’re looking for , you should look in the training programs available and decide the best method to obtain your certification. For those planning on operating as a private business, you should also look into basic business courses to give you the skills you will need to insure your success.

Are you new to golf and trying to determine what ladies golf clothes to choose for your golf wardrobe? By now you probably are already aware that golf is the type of sport that carries dress code stipulations.
The first lady golfers from distant past times had to contend with rigid and inflexible dress code rules. Terribly unattractive, very restrictive and awfully uncomfortable would probably be an accurate description of their early golf attire. These ladies had to cope with golf clothes that hampered their golf swing.
Much more relaxed golf dress code rules have evolved over the years. However, there is still a tendency for most golfers to wear traditional golf attire.
There are certain clubs that still enforce specific requirements on dress code. As a starting point for building a golf wardrobe make sure you check on the dress code rules at the clubs on your golfing agenda.
When starting a golf wardrobe it is a great deal like starting a work wardrobe. You start by adding staple items. In ladies golf clothes, staple items would be tops and bottoms.
Today’s market offers a wide variety of ladies golf shirts or tops, golf skorts, pants and shorts. The garments should not be binding or restrictive.
Be sure when selecting golf apparel, especially for summer, the material of the garment is breathable and enables sweat evaporation to take place. This is especially true for tops. Wearing a wet, clingy shirt when golfing is utterly miserable.
When selecting staple pieces of clothes for your golf wardrobe choose neutral colors. This will enable you to extend your wardrobe by being able to mix and match your pieces.
Will you be playing in hot humid conditions a lot? If so, it is best to stay away from black and select light colors. Your work wardrobe might be loaded with black, but for golfing it will absorb the sun’s rays while light colors will reflect.
As you begin choosing ladies golf clothes for your wardrobe, start off by adding a couple of tops that are good quality. Make sure they are breathable and easy care. No fuss wash and dry items that hold up to frequent launderings.
A nice bottom to mix and match with the tops would be the next purchase. Skorts are really popular among many lady golfers. Some of the nicer clubs seem to favor skorts for ladies. As long as you conform to dress code stipulations, then choose the type of ladies golf clothes that best reflects your own personal style because this can help boost your self-confidence.

Have you been to Breckenridge Golf Club? Any golfer should not miss the chance to experience what its like to play in the 27-hole municipal golf course designed by the renowned golfer Jack Nicklaus. The course opened with only 18 holes in 1985. With the success of its operation, the municipal officials decided to add nine more holes in 2001. The new nine holes became known as The Elks Nine and is located at the highest part of the course, giving its players the best panoramic view of the mountains and of course, the elks.
The Awards
That Breckenridge Golf Club is the foremost golf course to visit whenever you are in Colorado is supported by the ratings, recognitions that it gets from both national and local organizations. For example, it was recognized twice by Colorado Golfer- as Best Mountain Course then as Toughest Mountain Course. Another publication, Golf Digest gave it 4-1/2 stars in its Places to Play guide, and identified it as one of the countrys Upscale Places to Play.
Four of The Courses Unique Attributes:
The High-Altitude Aspect
What reasons give this course its edge other than its Jack Nicklaus design? There is always a stamp of superiority in Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses. But the Breckenridge Golf Club offers more than the prestige of its designer, such as playing at almost 10,000 feet over the sea level. At that elevation, lower pull of gravity and lower air resistance propel your ball higher and with more accuracy to the target spot than when you are at lower elevations. Golfers know what those conditions do to their scores.
Best Golf Weather
Temperatures at higher elevations are much cooler compared to those at lower elevations. Golfers love cool temperatures because they dont sweat that much even if they stay long in the courses, walking from one hole to another hole. If its summer, the temperature is leaning towards the 70s range, sometimes 80 degrees but it seldom happens. During spring and fall, have your jacket on and you can stay in the golf course for hours.
Exciting Terrain
You wont really be proud of your game if it was too easy, would you? Jack Nicklaus, being the golf expert that he is, would expectedly design enough obstacles for the players to overcome.
Splendid Panorama
Probably, the best advantage of a golf player in Breckenridge is the fantastic panorama of the mountains. In addition, if you staring right there at Bear Nine, that is the location of the tent city that the gold miners put up while they were searching for the precious metal in Breckenridge. While walking from hole to hole, you can also view the beauty of the wetlands, the native plants plus the spectacular sight of Ten-Mile Range and the overview of the vast Breckenridge Ski Resort. If youre interested about history, Beaver Nine has loads of the rock pile that some miners left behind. You may notice that the beaver ponds are adding to the players frustration in some holes. However, whenever you find yourself in that situation, take time to enjoy the beauty of Buffalo Mountain and after sometime, your frustration has eased. The players at Elk Nine are very lucky to be facing the widest panorama of nature showing Breckenridges Ten-Mile Range as well as the greenery and lake that add to the courses difficulty level.
Breckenridge is no doubt a delight to its golfers. To maximize your time in the golf course, it will be very convenient for you if you book a Breckenridge condo or a vacation home nearby. The combination of comfortable weather in a top-ranked golf course plus a splendid view of nature at its best is where any golfer would wish to be.

In sports, being stronger and doing things faster and higher are always good things that could most certainly secure a victory for you. After all, how many sports victories were won by the slowest, least capable participant? Basketball is one particular sport that requires a number of skills, but one of the skills that will give you an advantage over the other players is if you can jump higher than any of them. Remember how “His Airness” Michael Jordan would sail through the air and make a winning shot? Jumping higher in basketball guarantees that you can sink a basket that many other players would probably find impossible to do and maybe even win you the game.
Unfortunately, coaches don’t exactly teach you how to jump higher in basketball, which is why you should undertake some additional exercises to train yourself to jump higher. Jumping requires the use of your leg muscles, so increasing their strength and agility is your priority. When you teach yourself how to jump higher in basketball, always ensure that you don’t overdo it or you might risk getting an injury. Always start with the proper warmups exercises to condition your muscles for the entire set of workouts for your legs.
Some exercises can help tone you up and make you jump higher. Doing a series of squats can help strengthen your legs and help make sure that you can carry your body weight in your legs when you push yourself down and propel your body upward when you jump. Jumping exercises are a staple of any basketball training session; all you need to do is to crouch or squat down then launch yourself into a vertical jump. Various jumping rope exercises can also increase your legs’ muscle power, as these can develop your calf muscles.
There is also a set of exercises called plyometrics that you can do. Plyometrics involves movements performed in a rapid sequence to ensure that the muscles of the body lengthen and contract as quickly as possible; one of the main goals of plyometrics is to enable a person to jump higher. Keep in mind, however, that plyometrics is best performed by athletes in good physical condition while under supervision.
These are just some of the exercises you can do in order to jump higher in basketball–or in any sport, for that matter. Remember to pace yourself when doing the exercises and don’t expect to see results in a flash. Try to ask your coach or trainer to develop a training program that can improve your leg muscle strength and help you jump higher.

There are a lot of water filters in the market these days. A lay man can easily get confused on the array of choices available. You have Pur water filters and watts water filters who are the leaders in the market today. Another question which may come into your mind is about whether you really need a water filtration system?
Before you do go out and purchase a water filter let me reaffirm again with a few points why you need a water filter.
1. Firstly, I recommend that you educate yourself as to where your water supply source is coming from. This is easily done by visiting your local EPA link, and keeping updated with local community checking the water source daily.
2. Secondly, I would suggest that you find out the type of chemicals which are used to disinfect your water. On most occasions the chemicals used in the water is chlorine and chloramines. Lets face it, these chemicals arent bad and is needed to disinfect water however taken in large quantities can be fatal to anyones health.
3. Once you have all the information on the kind if filtration requirement you need, buy a filter that can meet this need.
Even thought there are many water filter brands on the market there are only a few worth mentioning. In this article I will only give you a review on two. Pur water filters or commonly referred too as Filter Pur and Watts water filter.
Pur water filters is the top of the range if your interested in quality and reliability. Many people use and recommend Pur Water filters because it has proven to work for them. Filter Pur has proven to remove 99 percent of all contaminates in your water. With its faucet mounted filters and it pitcher water filters, Pur is able to remove chemicals such as benzene, chlorine and even cysts. Whatever your need Pur definitely has a filter for every situation.
Watts is another filter brand I would recommend. Like Pur water filters, watts also has a wide variety to choose from. Amongst the many filters they sell I would have to say that their reverse osmosis system surpasses all other model types.
Reverse osmosis is one of the best ways to get clean and fresh water at home. Since electricity is not utilized in the process, its one of the most economical ways to get pure water without any contaminants and heavy metals. This also prevents a mineral build up in your utensils, tea and coffee makers. It removes harmful chemicals like fluoride, mercury, nitrates and even chromium.
The Watts reverse osmosis range if available in many varieties like the Watts 5 stage reverse osmosis system, Watts WP2-BVC reverse osmosis system and even a whole system. These filters are what is termed sediment filters and carbon blocking systems.
If you are seriously considering water filters then I do suggest buying either Watts or Pur water filters. They can guarantee pure water, quality, and reliability giving you a healthier position in life.

The Prestigio massage chair is the subject of this product review. The OM-510 is made by the prestigious Omega Massage Corporation. We will submit this massage chair to a test of 5 separate categories. Each category can get between 0 and 20 points. We will look at the following areas for evaluation: Warranty & Customer Service, Comfort/Ergonomics, Ease of Use, Features and Massage Therapy. A maximum score of 100 points is possible in this review process. We now take a look at the OM-510 Prestigio massage chair recliner.
Warranty & Customer Service: This is an important long term protection that must be factored into a big ticket item purchase. Omega provides the following warranty coverage for the Prestigio: 5 years on the frame, 3 years on parts, 1 year of shipping and 90 days in home technical service. This is the most comprehensive warranty for a mid level masssage chair. Service is quick and responsive. We give the Omega Corporation a 19 in warranty and customer service.
Comfort & Ergonomics: The science of ergonomic design is being applied in most industries. This is important that things are designed in a sensible manner to accommodate us humans. We need controllers simple and easy to use like the Prestigio. It comes with large buttons, making it easy for everyone to use. The fit of the chair is designed well. The chair back has a contour to fit your back. The seat is plush and the leg rest comfortable to use. The OM-510 Prestigio massage chair gets a 17 for its ergonomics.
Ease of Use: Like any device with built in electronics, ease of use is a critical concern. A manufacturer needs to design their controls to be intuitive to use. The Prestigio has a great set of massage features built into the chair. The remote is pretty straight forward to use. It has large buttons and a backlit LCD for use in lower light settings. The LCD has icons which show exactly what massage functions are running during the programs. The only non-intuitive feature is switching from automatic programs to manual programs. This is a two step process with this massage recliner. One has to select the mode button and then select the massage technique. Most chairs allow you to select directly. This is the only issue we have seen with this remote control. Otherwise, everything is self-explanatory. Overall rating for the Omega OM-510 for ease of use is 16.
Key Features: Here is what we really like about the Prestigio OM-510 massage chair. It has a soothing reflexology foot massage and an invigorating shiatsu massage. The shiatsu massage gives great and thorough penetration to the back. The rollers reach down the lower lumbar for an excellent lower back massage. The reflexology foot massage takes the days tension right out of your feet. Place those tired, aching feet in the leg rest and let the soothing begin. The reflexology points are stimulated on the bottom of your feet while a firm compression massage takes place on the top of your feet. These key features rate an 18 on our evaluation of the OM 510.
Massage Therapy: The critical category is how is the massage therapy? After all, it is a massage chair. You will not be disappointed at all with the Prestigio. It has 3 timed auto programs that provide a thorough and comprehensive massage to your back. You can switch to manual and select from 4 back courses including upper, lower, full and pinpoint. Select the manual massage treatment for targeted relief including kneading, tapping, finger press and shiatsu. The lower body is covered with the air massage system. Select the level of compression with the Prestigio for your buttocks, thighs, calves and feet. This is one invigorating massage therapy machine and scores a 19 in massage therapy.
Overall Rating: Let us present the total score for the OM-510 Prestigio from Omega Massage. We score this striking recliner an 89/100. This is perhaps the best mid tier massage chair. It combines elegant looks with soothing massage therapy. You get the best warranty protection and years of solid relief. The Omega OM-510 Prestigio massage chair recliner is the best mid tier model.

Women with abs look hot. A well-sculpted, toned and fit woman is the ideal vision of most women today. You can make that dream into a reality, with simple adjustments to your lifestyle. Watching your diet, decreasing stress as well as regular exercise consisting of resistance training and interval cardiovascular training, will help you achieve overall good health and ripped abs.
Monitoring what you eat by avoiding processed fatty foods, sugary snacks, fatty foods and carbonated beverages will help you control your caloric intake. The high calories that are consumed when eating these foods are sometimes too much for the body to utilize as energy and the excess is converted into body fat and stored in the belly.
Consuming foods that are rich in carbohydrates, fat, vitamins, minerals and protein will help us burn those calories and utilize excess body fat to provide energy for our physical activity. A regiment of 5-6 small meals throughout the day allows our body to keep a constant blood sugar level and maintain our energy level for our body’s physical activities.
Stress management is another factor in preventing fat accumulation. In a stressful situation, Cortisol is released that allows the body to store fat in the belly area.
Resistance training and multi-joint exercises have been shown to help increase the body’s metabolism. Not only will you be sculpting and toning your body, but you will also be increasing your metabolism to help your body burn fat. The increased lean body mass has greater metabolic processes which requires more energy. The increased energy demands from the muscles forces the body to convert the excess body fat to help fuel the activity of the muscles.
Training in short burst intervals; allow our body to adapt to the increased demands of the activity. The muscles must increase its metabolic activity to meet the increased demands, which results in greater fat burning. Excess fat is converted into energy for the muscles to function properly during that activity. In fact, the muscle metabolic activity continues well after the activity is over.
It is important to decrease the amount of belly fat we have, because studies have shown that increased belly fat also increase the chances of developing cardiovascular disease, diabetes and certain types of cancer. By reducing our belly fat, we can live healthier and have a better self-image.
There are not gender differences when it comes to training the abs. By understanding and making adjustments in monitoring what we eat, reducing stress, and having a regular exercise program of interval and resistance training, we can maintain good health and have great abs.

Jump shots are sometimes the only way to get a basket and score for your team. It is an essential shot that every player should master. It also requires more skill and practice then stationary shots because, it is a more physical shot.
Players looking to improve or master the jump shot should follow the following advice to make the most out of their practice sessions and make a good move towards being the best at jump shots.
The following advice gives some very practical ideas on how to make good jump shots and how to train yourself so that you can make every jump shot count.
Have a Practice Routine
Every time you are trying to work on a shot you have to develop a practice routine. This allows you to become more at ease with the shot. It helps you to make the shot more second nature.
Make sure that when you are practicing that you have a way to do your shot. You may warm up and stretch and then do some dribbling and then jump shots, for example. Do your routine the same every practice.
Do Specific Exercises
For jump shots you have to really develop your skills at jumping and balance.
You should do jump roping, jumping jacks and other moves that allow you to get practice jumping so you can gain height. You want to get the most height possible on your jumps.
Know the Key Move
A good jump shot will only happen when you can jump straight in the air. To practice this technique you need to practice jumping up and down in a straight line.
You can mark the ground with a circle. When you jump up and down you should make sure you land in the same spot each time. You should practice jumping exercises until you master them and still keep on practicing the moves so you stay good at them.
This is the key move to mastering the jump shot. A straight jump equals a straight shot. It allows you to really be accurate in your jump shot. Without the straight jump your shot is going to be off. Once you are in the air there is nothing you can really do to turn the shot right.
As you can see a lot of the focus is on jumping. That is because a lot of a jump shot is the jump. Every other shot you make is similar to the jump shot, but none is focused so much on air height. You have to take that seriously in order to have a distinguished and effective jump shot.
When you are practicing and working with your jump shot you have to remain focused and be willing to work hard. Jump shots do not come naturally to most people. They involve a lot of work and effort on your part. It is essential that you are serious about getting the height on your jumps and sinking a straight shot. Only then can you truly master the jump shot.
